Portable electronics is developing so rapidly that keeping track of it is quite difficult. You need to regularly monitor the news, but even in this case there is a risk of missing an interesting model with attractive features and price.
We decided to take stock of 2018 and the first half of 2019 by choosing the 10 most popular phones in terms of price / quality ratio. We did not consciously take flagship models for 100+ thousand, since this is a completely different category.
So, which phone is convenient and often bought in Russia and the world today?
10. Xiaomi Pocophone F1 | from 18 000
Let's start with the model that the manufacturer dubbed “budget flagship that left competitors behind».
So, what do we have: the 845th Snapdragon at 2.8 GHz, a 4000 mAh battery with fast charging, a 20 MP dual camera with smart autofocus, 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB / 128 GB of internal memory. This is complemented by a “juicy” display with a diagonal of 6.18 inches and a resolution of 2246 x 1080.
Games "fly" on such hardware, and the device does not overheat due to liquid cooling with copper tubes.
In principle, the advertising slogan of the company is fully true: to find a smartphone on this processor for that kind of money is not so simple, but given the other characteristics, Xiaomi Pocophone F1 can be called the best choice in the range of 18-20 thousand rubles.
9. Vivo V15 | from 22 500
Model Vivo v15 it will cost you several thousand more, but if you are tired of banal monoblocks and want something like that - the overpayment is worth it.
The main feature, in addition to the "funny" colors - a selfie camera, hidden in the smartphone. When activated, it advances, which looks and feels non-standard, but comfortable. 32 megapixels will allow you to take smart selfies, which is very important for all active Instagram users.
The rest of the filling did not disappoint either: 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, MediaTek Helio P70 processor, 4000 mAh battery. All of this is running Android 8.1.
We should also mention the display: resolution 2340x1080 with a diagonal of 6.53 inches and a non-standard aspect ratio - 19.5: 9. Thanks to this, using a smartphone in a horizontal orientation is much more convenient, especially when it comes to working with text editors.
Play, however, is also convenient, and the processor and video core are enough for any application.
8. Xiaomi Mi 9 | from 25 000
Snapdragon 855 and 5G support Xiaomi Mi 9. The latter is not yet relevant for Russia, but a brand new processor is what is needed for demanding applications.
Even more speed, even less hangs and "lags." The rest of the iron is quite in the spirit of the times and does not differ from previous models.
The screen here is 6.39 inches with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 and support for HDR 10, and the camera is 20 megapixels.
Cons, unfortunately, are significant: the battery capacity is only 3,300 mAh, there is no optical stabilization, and there is no 3.5 headphone jack.
7. Honor View 20 | from 26 500
IN Honor View 20 there is a 3.5 mm jack, and the battery is 4000 mAh here, besides, the maximum version has 256 GB of internal memory with the possibility of an even larger increase using nanoSD cards, which is not the case with Xiaomi.
At least in this, this model wins, otherwise having similar characteristics (except that the processor is different - Kirin 980 (up to 2.6 GHz) with Mali-G76 graphics).
Except for the price, which in this case is slightly overpriced, the device is worthy and has no obvious minuses.
6. Honor 10 | from 18 000
The phone can be safely recommended first of all to those who do not like AMOLED screens. IN Honor 10 LTPS-matrix is installed, which is not much inferior in picture quality.
The 24 + 16 PM camera is equipped with artificial intelligence, which, without your participation, can independently select shooting parameters depending on the level of lighting, the type of subject being photographed, etc. However, this advantage is leveled lack of zoomalthough, logically, he should be there.
Another drawback is lack of support for wireless charging. To some this may seem like a trifle, but millions of people are already accustomed to the absence of wires, so for them it is a step back.
5. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 | from 11 000
Just say that the smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 There are three versions: 3/32, 4/64 and 4/128 GB of memory, so keep in mind that the prices quoted by us may change due to this.
The low price is not due to the top-end hardware inside: the Snapdragon 660 with Adreno 512 graphics for 2019 is quite modest, although 11k is also modest.
The screen here is also simpler and equipped with an IPS-matrix, although significant differences can be noticed only by those who have long been “sitting” exclusively on OLED and AMOLED.
The only drawback that cannot be justified even by the low price is throttling in demanding games.
4. Meizu Note 9 | from 12 500
The analogue will cost a little more expensive - Meizu Note 9but in this case it’s worth paying an extra couple of thousand: the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 and the Adreno 612 video chip look more attractive and work more efficiently.
The rest of the devices are almost identical in terms of filling, except that Note 9 is in a configuration with 6 GB of RAM (which, of course, is more expensive).
FPS subsidence and throttling in games are not observed, but the smartphone “fries” strongly: under load it can heat up to 45 degrees.
Finally we mention the main plus is the main camera at 48 megapixelsthat for the budget segment, although not a unique phenomenon, but still a rarity. The photos are bright and clear, but the video is a little worse: due to the lack of an optical stabilizer, the image constantly twitches.
3. Samsung Galaxy A50 | from 16 000
Smartphone Samsung Galaxy A50 built on the Exynos 9610 platform with four Cortex A73 cores (up to 2.3 GHz) and four Cortex A53 cores with a frequency of up to 1.7 GHz, and the Mali G72 MP3 core is responsible for the graphics.
The simplest configuration is 4/64, the top one is 6/128, and in both cases the drive can be expanded with a microSD card up to 512 GB. Samsung created the phone to compete with Honor and Xiaomi, not wanting to give them the middle price segment (closer to the budget).
It turned out surprisingly well: the mere presence of a SuperAMOLED screen tips the scales in favor of Koreans. The A50 model is a modified and improved A30, so sales are at a high level.
2. Samsung Galaxy S8 | from 20 500
After Samsung became disgraced with the Galaxy Note 7, everyone expected a device from them that would rehabilitate them in the eyes of users. This "medicine" has become Samsung Galaxy S8who completely regained trust in the company.
The absolutely frameless design (without "eyebrows" even) of 5.8 inches (AMOLED with 3K resolution and an aspect ratio of 18.5: 9) is pride and main advantage.
The main thing is that in width it is the same as the iPhone 7, which has 4.7 inches. This means that the phone will conveniently lie in any hand and will not be felt by a "shovel".
The Snapdragon 835 processor is enough for any everyday tasks, and the camera's capabilities - for creating high-quality photos and videos. What more could you want for the money?
1. Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite | from 12 000
Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite It is interesting not only because the manufacturer jumped from the 6th model to the 8th right away (in honor of the eighth anniversary), but also because it is an almost perfect “selfie phone” for its money.
12 and 5 pixel modules with optical stabilization and autofocus shoot really cool: in good lighting quality is not worse than phones are 2-3 times more expensive.
As for the cons, there are several of them: there is no moisture protection (many analogues do not have it), a 3.5 mm headphone adapter needs an adapter, there is no wireless charging, and manual settings for the camera settings are still not enough.
